This program will be launched by the Polish National Foundation in cooperation with The Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation (VOC), a world-wide private nonprofit organization established by the US Congress in 1993.

Cezary Andrzej Jurkiewicz The Chairman of the Board of the Polish National Foundation (PNF) and Maciej Świrski - Member of the Foundation’s Board announced at a press briefing on 29 May 2018 the launch by the PFN of a Polish Studies Program devoted to the history and consequences of Communism in Poland.

 This program will be launched by the Polish National Foundation in cooperation with The Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation (VOC), a world-wide private nonprofit organization established by the US Congress in 1993. The primary goal of the VOC’s activity is to educate and spread knowledge about the history, legal and economic aspects and ideologies of the Communist systems in the world, aimed at counteracting Communism and building awareness of the crimes and consequences of totalitarian regimes.

 The program is addressed to Polish scholars and covers a wide range of research subjects, from the Russian revolution, the Polish-Bolshevik war, through the Soviet occupation of Poland until 1989, to the overthrowing of the totalitarian system in Poland. Each individual grant program will last 10 months. The first semester of the program will start on September 1, 2018 in Washington.
